SNW EUROPE’S ‘POWERING THE CLOUD’ SET TO BUILD ON PREVIOUS SUCCESS

The conferences, which will be held under the banner ‘Powering the Cloud’ at Congress Frankfurt on 30th and 31st October 2012, will feature presentations by industry experts, demonstrations of new products and information on the latest technology developments. Delegates will be offered the chance to take a datacentre tour in Frankfurt as part of the programme for the Datacenter Technologies conference.

With a choice of over 130 conference sessions, the programme contains dedicated real-life case study tracks with speakers from across Europe focused on education and information. The conferences, aimed at a broad spectrum of end user professionals such as resellers, consultants and distributors with a focus on IT, will in addition offer the opportunity to attend practical hands-on-labs on new technologies. Training sessions will be organised by qSkills.

SNIA Europe, one of the most influential organisations working in the area of IT data and networking standardisation, will also be addressing areas of influence such as cloud storage, data management, converged networks and long-term archiving standards.

“The strong level of interest and support from Europe’s most influential journalists, bloggers and analysts for nearly a decade illustrates why these events are seen by many in the industry as the highlight of the year,” said Paul Trowbridge, Programme Director for the three events.
BITKOM, GSE and SANBoard are amongst a number of key companies happy to be back on board.

The 2012 conference program will take on a new look with a series of half-day mini-tracks hosted by leading analyst houses such as The 451 Group, IDC, Josh Krischer & Associates and Demartek. Each of these mini-tracks will focus on a particular subject and be hosted by an analyst representative and feature a mix of vendor, end-user and relevant SNIA content. Each mini-track will close with an open Q&A session for the audience and speakers to exchange views and get questions answered.

The planned topics for these new min-tracks will include:

- Big data
- Next generation data protection
- Data security (in the cloud)
- The impact of virtualisation (VDI and server) on storage
- Converged infrastructures
- Cloud storage
- Solid State Storage.

Also new for 2012 will be a conference program specifically aimed at members of the reseller channel looking to migrate their business to a set of managed services platforms. Content for this part of the conference will be specifically adapted to the European audience and feature a mix of vendors and providers who will share best practices and openly discuss new business opportunities and pitfalls to avoid. For delegates from commercial and government organisations interested in the field of managed services there will be content this year looking into the issues around outsourcing, hosting and co-location of IT services.
