Biography

Danny Devriendt is the MD of IPG/Dynamic in Brussels, and the CEO of the Eye of Horus, a global think-tank for communication-technology related topics.

Never satisfied with the status quo, he is a true bringer of change. He listens to the tiniest vibrations of the web, detects significant patterns way ahead of time and analyzes economic, cultural, societal and technological trends and weighs their potential impact on brands, organizations and citizens.

His ability to bring fresh ideas, actionable intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking to the strategic table makes him an ideal sparring partner and soundboard for the C-suite.

An expert in influence, strategic positioning, exponential change and (e)reputation turns him into the secret weapon you hope your competition never taps into…

He is a guest lecturer at the Ghent University, StiMa, GRP School, CREA Geneva and the Solvay Business School.

He worked with clients as the Bluetooth SIG, The Coca Cola Company, Monster, Tele Atlas, Parrot, The Belgian National Lottery, MacDonald’s, Belfius and HP.

He spoke at over 300 global events, including SXSW, SMD, DMEXCO, the Bluetooth World Congress, GSMA MWC and Cebit.

Danny started his career as a journalist in Belgium and the UK.

Business Insider ranked him the 3rd most influential ad Executive on twitter, and CEO Magazine listed him in their 10 top adexecs to follow on twitter.

Danny studied Educational Sciences and Agogics, the social science relating to the promotion of personal, social and cultural welfare. His healthy passion for people, Schrödingers cat, quantum mechanics and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy makes him an unorthodox out-of-the-box thinker.

He likes writing poetry and short stories, winning several literary prizes in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Danny is fluent in Dutch, French and English.

Introduction

Forget about the new normal. We’ve entered an era of perpetual abnormality. Change invited itself into the equation. Hypercurves re-invent businesses.  COVID-19 proved to be a giant tech accelerator.  Some employees haven’t seen their office for a year now. The first millennials turned 40 on January first.  They are old enough to sue for age discrimination.  Forget rules, procedures and floorplans. How do you communicate Culture? How do you manage from a distance? How do you forge loyalty and sales through a screen? eXperience is the name of the game… Consumer Experience (CX), User Experience (UX) and Employee Experience (EX).  We’ll have to re-shuffle our deck of tricks: time to put “Social” back in “Social” Media.
